Last summer, Isle La Motte was home to a brand new summer event that took place right off the shores of our island.

For the first time ever, island residents and visitors assembled to have a symbolic "Flotilla" around Lake Champlain to commemorate Samuel de Champlain's historic visit to Lake Champlain.

This years event will be taking place on July 12, 2008. Last year's event proudly contained over 30 vessels ranging from canoes, to large fishing boats. We are expecting a record turnout this year, with a BBQ on the Alburg Dunes after our voyage. Come stay with us at Fossil Rock Resort and take part in this historic event.

This year helps to lead us into next years event where we will be celebrating the 400th anniversary of de Champlain's arrival on Isle La Motte.
